The Dangers of Comparison
The dangers of comparison.
Do you know how much joy gets robbed in our lives just because we compare our journey with other people?
It's a thief of so much good in our souls.
We want what they have- whether it's a house, a car, a job, a body, clothes, appliances, money-
it doesn't matter what it is- it costs you something every single time you compare.
Nitin Namdeo said, "The biggest self-abuse in the world is to compare yourself to others."
Self-abuse- to your soul, your spirit, your heart, and honest to goodness- your ambitions. You get so down on yourself that you can't even see the light trying to shine through. The doors to opportunity are clouded.
There will always be someone with more than us.
And there will always be someone with less.
What we have to do is quit looking at where we are at on that scale- quit measuring our successes off of other people's meters-
and chase, chase, chase what we WANT and NEED!
What do YOU want?
Not what do you want because others have it.
What do you want because your soul NEEDS it?
Be mindful of comparison today.
That is our challenge.
Shut your mind down every time it tries to say "I want what they have."
